After an 11-fight win streak (not including a no-contest and draw), Magomed Ankalaev will finally get a second shot at Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) gold as he takes on UFC Light Heavyweight kingpin Alex Pereira at UFC 313 on March 8, 2025, which will go down inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
For the past year, Ankalaev has felt he deserved a title shot but believes “Poatan” has intentionally ducked him. Because of that, the Dagastani posted a grim warning on social media.
“You just sign your death certificate,” Ankalaev wrote on Twitter. “I’m gonna punish you for ducking me and I’m gonna make you look like a guy work in a tire shop, not professional fighter.”
“[Pereira can] go to all UFC fight to get free alcohol and get camera time on the other hand,” Ankalaev added in another tweet. “I’ve been training so hard, March 8, alcohol not help you.”

For what it’s worth, it’s more than likely that Ankalaev did not write these tweets; rather, his manager Ali Abdelaziz—who has access to all of his clients’ accounts—wrote them.
Nevertheless, Ankalaev is referencing Pereira’s old job at a Brazilian tire shop, where he worked for several years while battling alcoholism (what the second tweet referenced).
Ankalaev (20-1-1) seeks to be the first person to defeat Pereira since he moved up to Light Heavyweight after capturing the Middleweight strap, and apparently, the bookies believe he will.
