Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel and Aleksandar Pavlović have both battled against the odds to earn a regular spot in the Bayern Munich starting lineup over the past 18 months. Unfortunately, while Pavlović has largely succeeded in this, Tel has not been quite as successful in proving his worth to the Bayern coaches and has seen extremely limited game time. This now sees the Frenchman heavily linked with a permanent exit from the club, with Tottenham Hotspur seemingly the frontrunners.
Such big exit news saw reporters ask the Bayern players about their thoughts after the Champions League win over ŠK Slovan Bratislava. Pavlović, as one of those players, emphasized his support for Tel wherever he goes: “Mathys is a great guy and a big friend of mine,” Pavlović said, via @iMiaSanMia. “He’s also a great footballer. I’m sure he will make his own way, we’ll see what happens.”
So has Tel told him his decision yet? “No, not yet.”
Unfortunately, sometimes players of even this much talent do not make it at Bayern. Pavlović did make it, but it seems as if Tel will not.
