Bayern Munich’s ongoing quest to secure Jamal Musiala to a long term contract keeps going. Given that the contract of today’s goalscorer is running out in 2026, keeping the talks going is very important. But it does not mean that updates are around the corner.
Someone needs to tell that to the press, however, because they keep asking about Musiala’s contract after nearly every match. Asked after the 1-1 draw in the Bundesliga against Borussia Dortmund about a possible contract extension for the the former Southampton youth player before Christmas, Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl had this to say:
“We’re talking very intensively, well, a lot,” Eberl clarified, via @iMiaSanMia. “I would like to put it under everyone’s Christmas tree, but I can’t promise that today.”
As expected, such a long process has not brought about an update yet. But the press will keep asking about it very frequently.
