Many people have been blaming Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews for his team’s 27-25 loss in this past weekend’s divisional-round loss to the Buffalo Bills when he dropped a pass near the end zone that would’ve resulted in a two-point conversion and a tied game late in the fourth quarter.
But another way to look at it is that his drop was the proverbial low-hanging fruit and that there were additional reasons why Baltimore lost that game and will now have to watch the AFC Championship Game and Super Bowl on television.
Las Vegas Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby stuck up for Andrews, saying that Baltimore wouldn’t have even gotten to the brink of the conference title game without Andrews, per SiriusXM NFL Radio.

Andrews wasn’t chosen to the Pro Bowl this season, but he got three Pro Bowl nods in previous seasons, and 2024 was one of his best seasons yet.
He caught 55 passes for 673 yards and 11 touchdowns, and those 11 receiving touchdowns were tied for the fourth-most in the NFL.
When a team, especially one that is a Super Bowl contender, loses a big game, the responsibility and accountability for that loss has to fall on the shoulders of multiple men, if not the entire team.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson went 18 of 25 for 254 yards and two passing touchdowns, but he had an interception, as well as a fumble on a sack early in the second quarter that quickly led to a touchdown by Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen.
Another factor in the Ravens’ loss was the absence of wide receiver Zay Flowers, who got injured in Week 18 and was unable to play in the playoffs after getting named to the Pro Bowl in his second pro season.
