The Michigan Wolverines’ disappointing season has gotten a bit worse thanks to a tough loss on the recruiting trail.
Carter Smith, a four-star quarterback from Fort Myers, Florida, has deccommitted from Michigan. He had committed a year ago in November of 2023 when Jim Harbaugh was still the head coach. This will go down as a loss for Sherrone Moore, Harbaugh’s replacement, though.
Ironically, it’s Moore and Michigan’s continued recruitment of Bryce Underwood, a five-star quarterback and the nation’s No. 1 overall recruit, that seems to have caused the rift between Smith and Michigan.
Underwood, an LSU commitment, is from Belleville, Michigan and the Wolverines are going hard trying to flip him and they’re using a potential NIL package to do it.
