Reaching the NCAA Tournament is the mark of a successful season for the vast majority of college basketball programs. For the sport’s blue bloods and perennial Final Four and national championship hopefuls, though, it is an expectation. Not all of the most prolific schools are equally as successful at getting into the 68-team field as others, though, with many accounting for notable absences over the last few seasons.
Three programs in particular carry tremendous March Madness streaks into the final weeks of the 2023-24 campaign. Kansas, Michigan State and Gonzaga are the most reliable teams in punching tickets to the Big Dance, though two of those streaks are in considerable jeopardy with the regular season nearing completion.
With the bracket set to be finalized in less than three weeks, Tom Izzo and Mark Few have work to do in keeping their streaks alive. Other coaches, meanwhile, are ready to pounce and move up the leaderboard should the Spartans or Bulldogs falter.
