Top 10 Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweights are headed to “The City of Angels.”
Today (Thurs., Dec. 5, 2024), UFC announced on their social media that No. 8 ranked Lightweight Beneil Dariush will fight No. 10 seeded Renato Moicano at UFC 311 on Sat., Jan. 18, 2025, which will take place inside the brand-new Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California.
Dariush (22-6-1) has been out of action since his absolutely brutal knockout loss to Arman Tsarukyan last Dec. at UFC Austin (watch highlights). The once-title contender will be looking to rebound as he is riding a two-fight losing streak and was finished in both of them.
For what it’s worth, the last time Dariush fought in his hometown of Los Angeles, he viciously knocked out James Vick (watch highlights).
Moicano (20-5-1) is on the best run of his UFC career, winning four straight fights- three via finish. In his last outing, he destroyed the ultra-tough Benoit Saint-Denis in the main event of UFC Paris while also severely injuring his collarbone. Before that, he stopped Jalin Turner at UFC 300 (watch highlights).
While he didn’t get his wish of fighting Paddy Pimblett, a win over Dariush would be crucial for his climb up the Lightweight rankings.
