Kai Havertz will start up front when Germany face France in a friendly in Lyon on Saturday.
This was confirmed by Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann at a press conference on Friday.
“Kai has developed very well at Arsenal. He has a lot of recognition. I think a lot of him as a person and as a player,” said Nagelsmann.
“He will start as a central striker, with a slightly different profile than the other players around him. We’re happy to have a slightly different kind of striker behind him in [Niclas] Füllkrug.”
Nagelsmann also confirmed that Stuttgart left-back Maximilian Mittelstädt will make his international debut in the starting eleven.
“Of course I trust him to play, otherwise I wouldn’t have called him up. He will start tomorrow. He’s a very intelligent man who has come a long way in Stuttgart. He will start because he has trained well and consistently.”
