Frisco (Texas) Lone Star edge rusher Jaxon Lee has committed to Nebraska. The Lone Star State senior enjoyed his weekend visit to Lincoln, a trip highlighted by the Huskers victory over Purdue.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pound Lee becomes commit No. 26 for head coach Matt Rhule and his staff in the 2024 recruiting cycle, a haul that is ranked No. 26 nationally by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. He chose the Big Ten program over opportunities from Texas Tech, Memphis and Tulsa among others.
“I loved everything about Nebraska,” Lee told 247Sports, emphasizing the everything part. He was recruited by Evan Cooper and Omar Hales after landing his offer earlier this month based off his strong senior film.
“We were warmly received by all the coaching staff,” Lee said. “The facilities were top-notch. The game-day atmosphere was crazy! The tour was awesome! The food was pretty good too.”
Lee looks forward to eating in Big Ten backfields for years to come.
In nine games this fall in a run to a District Championship and an eye on more before his final prep campaign is over, Lee has 33 tackles, nine stops for loss and 8.5 sacks. He has two forced fumbles and 11 quarterback hurries. Rhule and company love the quickness and motor Lee plays with. Lee loved the environment Rhule and his staff have created.
“I liked the locker room vibe,” Lee said. “The team was focused and locked in. I see myself there. I belong there. Coach Rhule is a great coach and the program is going in a good direction.”
A direction Lee can’t wait to be part of.
“I have a chance to contribute my talent and skillset to something great and I liked the culture and atmosphere of Nebraska,” Lee said. “I am excited for what’s next.”
