Head coach Jeff Brohm and his Louisville staff landed a commitment on Friday from one of the most efficient 2025 quarterbacks in the country in Oxford (Ala.) High passer Mason Mims who announced his intentions to play for the Cardinals.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Mims chose to play for Brohm, his brother in offensive coordinator Brian Brohm and company over an offer list that also included Vanderbilt, West Virginia, Mississippi State.
“I love the coaches,” Mims told 247Sports. He was offered by the 10-1 Cardinals last month. “I feel we have a great relationship.
“When I went I loved the atmosphere. They run a very pro-style offense that fits me and my goals of playing the in the NFL. They can go under center and then they can be in five wide.”
As a junior, Mims carved up defenses completing over 70 percent of his passes for 2,454 yards and 28 touchdowns to just three interceptions, lining up against some of the best competition in his state.
Mims is back at Louisville this weekend for the regular season finale against Kentucky.
“It just felt like home,” Mims said. “Everybody feels like family. The staff and facilities are incredible. They have top-notch facilities and a top-notch staff.”
Mims is the first commit for Louisville in the 2025 class. His coach Sam Adams loves the pickup all the way around.
“I think it’s a huge win for Louisville and for Mason,” Adams said. He was a GA at Louisville early in his career where he got to know the Brohms and was also the offensive coordinator at powerhouse Louisville Trinity high during his career. “I think it’s a great fit on both sides. Mason is a super-high character kid first off. They couldn’t of gotten a better person to anchor that class. He is an elite, real natural passer of the football. super high accuracy. He is by far of all the quarterbacks I ever coached the best processor of information and decision maker. You always know with Mason where the ball is gonna go. He’s gonna put the work in to study it ahead of time and get the ball to the right guy at the right time and you can’t ask for more from your quarterback than that.
“I’m super happy for him.”
