The New York Giants entered Week 14 with a seven-game losing streak and still seeking their first win of the season at MetLife stadium. They would welcome the New Orleans Saints (4-8), who hoped to keep their slim playoff chances alive.
The Giants had a handful of injuries heading into the game and would be without a ton of notable players on defense.
During the game, the Giants had a flurry of flags for the second straight game. Sunday was the second of back-to-back games where the Giants had 10-plus penalties — the first time they had back-to-back such games since 2018.
The Giants broke a long streak of games without an interception when Tre Hawkins intercepted Derek Carr in the 3rd quarter.
The defense, surprisingly held their own, especially considering the names who did not play on Sunday. The Giants’ offense was stagnant, as it has been all season long, putting just three points on the board in the first three quarters.
Late in the fourth quarter, trailing by 11, Drew Lock would connect with Malik Nabers to set up a short touchdown for Tyrone Tracey and the Giants would convert their first two-point conversion attempt of the season. The score and two-point conversion pulled the Giants to within three points.
Eventually, the Giants would have a chance to tie it in the closing seconds of the game. Graham Gano’s field goal attempt was blocked and the Giants lost, 14-11.
The loss dropped the Giants to 2-11 on the season and here is how X reacted:
