NFL job: Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator
After four seasons at Boston College, including a bowl victory to end 2023, Jeff Hafley had enough. Hafley’s return to the NFL — where he previously served as a defensive backs coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers — comes as a result of college football’s changing landscape, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported. Hafley has a strong recruiting reputation, which requires major time commitments that do not exist as an NFL coordinator.
“He wants to go coach football again in a league that is all about football,” Thamel said “College coaching has become fundraising, NIL and recruiting your own team and transfers. There’s no time to coach football anymore.”
