Another five-star prospect announces his commitment and it’s another big win for LSU. After landing five-star cornerback DJ Pickett recently, LSU and head coach Brian Kelly have secured the commitment of Las Vegas Bishop Gorman five-star receiver Derek Meadows.
The 6-5, 200-pounder was a longtime lean for Notre Dame, but everything changed after his official visit to LSU. The Tigers hosted him, laid out the red carpet, and were able to seal the deal. LSU nearly landed his commitment last weekend on July 13, but decided to hold off one more week to make sure he was 100% on that decision. A week later, he picked the Tigers and couldn’t be happier with his decision.
“From Day 1 those coaches believed in me and coach Hankton is a great coach who I know will get the best out of me,” Meadows told 247Sports. “It’s all about development with him and I know he’s going to coach me up as well as anyone. He believes in me and my abilities, and I have trust and faith in him as a coach so I know we’re going to work well together. The official visit was really big for me. The coaches all treat everyone like family. I know I want to be in that environment. Playing in the SEC will mean a lot and I know that I’m going to keep grinding to compete against the best.”
So, what is LSU getting in Meadows? How are things going on the trail for the Tigers?
