Losing players and people to the NFL is nothing new at Ohio State, but head coach Ryan Day does have two big vacancies on his offensive coaching staff that he needs to fill this offseason because of that.
First, Chip Kelly left for the offensive coordinator position with the Las Vegas Raiders. Kelly built a national championship-caliber offense so the Buckeyes will undoubtedly want to be smart about replacing him.
OSU is also losing offensive line coach Justin Frye, who is taking the same position in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals. That’s enough of a big loss because Frye had been with the program since 2022, and he developed some great talent for the Buckeyes.
It’s being reported by Pete Nakos of On3 that the Buckeyes do have Frye’s replacement, though. Virginia Tech offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen is expected to take the position at Ohio State.
