It has got to be good to be Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart right now.
Not only is Dart, a senior, one of the early favorites for the 2024 Heisman Trophy award, but he recently just inked a NIL deal with Dick’s Sporting Goods that’s reportedly in the $100K range.
Dart will be appearing in a back-to-school ad with sportscaster Kay Adams. Part of the ad is that he’ll be taking fans “behind the scenes” to share his favorite gear and clothes from Dick’s.
“Partnering with Dick’s Sporting Goods is an incredible opportunity,” Dart said in a statement reported by On3. “I’m looking forward to sharing my style and gear preferences with fans and being part of a brand that truly supports athletes.”
As a junior, Dart threw for 3,364 yards and 23 touchdowns with just five interceptions. He also rushed for 391 yards and eight touchdowns, proving to be dangerous with both his arm and his legs.
There’s a real belief that Dart could be one of the most prolific quarterbacks in the country this season now that he’s in his third season in Lane Kiffin’s offense.
Ole Miss was 11-2 last season with a win in the Peach Bowl over Penn State.
If Dart can play like a Heisman candidate in 2024, there’s a good chance the Rebels will be one of the 12 teams in the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff.
