The Oregon Ducks have a huge departure from their historic 2023 season with junior receiver Troy Franklin leaving the Ducks for the NFL. In the effort to replace the production lost by Franklin, the Ducks have secured the best transfer portal wide receiver prospect this offseason.
Texas A&M sophomore wide receiver Evan Stewart was on campus for an official visit this past weekend and has announced he’ll sign with the Ducks. The No. 2 overall transfer portal prospect and the No. 1 wide receiver transfer portal prospect will have two years of eligibility plus a redshirt year at Oregon. Stewart is one of just two 5-star prospects who have entered the transfer portal.
The 6-foot, 175-pound junior-to-be comes to Oregon with 91 career catches for 1,163 yards and six touchdowns. As a sophomore this season, Stewart caught 38 passes for 514 yards and four touchdowns. Evans is expected to join Oregon ahead of spring football.
With the addition of Evan Stewart the Ducks have had an impressive offseason haul of talent. The Ducks added 4-star high school receiver prospects Jeremiah McClellan, Ryan Pellum, and Dillon Greshman as well as 3-star receiver Jack Ressler. Plus the Ducks were able to retain starting receivers Tez Johnson and Traeshon Holden for next season.
Stewart becomes Oregon’s eigth transfer portal addition this offseason. He joins UTSA starting cornerback Kam Alexander, Kansas State starting safety Kobe Savage, Oklahoma starting QB Dillon Gabriel, Indiana starting offensive lineman Matthew Beford, Oregon State kicker Atticus Sappington, UCLA QB Dante Moore, and D2 All-American running back Jay Harris.
