If there was a bit of good news for Williams, it was that he didn’t sound overly concerned. That’s why the idea of wearing the boot didn’t sit well with him. ‘‘Hell, no,’’ he said. ‘‘I know what it looks like to wear a boot. You never want to just have to wear one of those.
