One of Penn State’s young defensive backs is set to enter the transfer portal.
Second-year defensive back King Mack is expected to enter the portal, sources tell 247Sports.
Mack was a Class of 2023 top-100 recruit who signed with the Nittany Lions in the 2023 class out of Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas.
He was being going to be an integral part of Penn State’s secondary coming out of the spring after he approached in 13 games as a true freshman. He registered three tackles and had one quarterback hurry as he transitioned from high school into the Nittany Lions’ secondary.
Veteran defensive back Jaylen Reed sang the praises of Mack during the spring.
“King is doing a great job,” said Reed, according to Lions247. “He’s doing a great job off the field and on the field. … When King gets in the game this year, he’s going to show the world. I feel like he’s gonna have a great opportunity to show the world who King Mack is. “He’s been doing a great job on the field this spring. He’s been making plays all over the field. It’s just once he puts it on the field and shows the world, I feel like it’s gonna be complete.”
