Projection: Enter 2024 NFL Draft
Could Cameron Ward, one of the top players in the transfer portal, waver on his NFL Draft decision? As of now, Ward chose the next level over transfer-portal offers from Miami, Florida State and others for another season in college football. His father told 247Sports last week that NIL had nothing to do with his NFL decision. Ward, whoagreed to play in the Feb. 1 East-West Shrine Bowl, finished the 2023 season 324-of-486 (67 percent) for 3,735 yards, 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Ward also carried for 144 yards and eight scores. In 2022, he was 320-of-497 (64 percent) for 3,231 yards, 23 touchdowns, and nine picks, scrambling for 58 yards and five scores. To be a first-round pick, however, Ward’s going to have to beat out signal callers like Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix behind a trio of quarterbacks who have been slotted inside the top 10 of every updated mock.
