Head coaches and players get most of the credit for standout seasons across the SEC, but it’s the sum of the parts that truly determine a program’s value year to year with varying levels of success based on the quality of assistants and overall talent development. Coaching staff turnover is a common occurrence across the Power conference ranks, especially in the SEC, where we’ve seen coaches accept jobs and leave for another in the same cycle.
It’s all about fit, opportunity and pay, and we’ve seen several significant personnel moves this offseason that should yield immediate results for the teams included.
We’ve kept the offseason’s primary offensive and defensive coordinator within the SEC hires off limits for this exercise since we’ve power-ranked those additions already prior to spring practice. There’s some “co-coordinator” titles included, however, but as long as they’re not given play-calling duties, they’re fair game.
