KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The final regional of Overtime’s OT7 season took place over the weekend at the Austin-Tindall Sports Complex. The 7-on-7 tournament attracted teams from around the country. While Saturday’s pool play featured a lengthy weather delay, Sunday brought sunny and hot conditions for elimination play. Below, we highlight some top performers and share more observations after taking in all the action with no shortage of blue-chip recruits running around.
ALPHA DOG: QB MADDEN IAMALEAVA
This was the second straight weekend we saw Iamaleava on the OT7 circuit and he played some of his best football on Sunday, leading his team to the tournament’s final. Iamaleava is the younger brother of Tennessee quarterback and former five-star recruit Nico Iamaleava.
Madden isn’t as tall or as long as Nico, but the similarities are there as Madden also likes to change arm angles and zip tight spirals to all three levels of the field. In the championship game, Madden completed 21 of 28 passes for 245 yards and five touchdowns. He did toss a pick-six and wasn’t able to connect on a potential game-winner at the buzzer, but overall it was a promising showing for the soon-to-be senior out of Downey (Calif.) Warren as he was able to throw his targets open and win games with precision.
When it comes to the recruitment, Madden has yet to schedule any official visits. However, the No. 11-ranked quarterback in the Top247 did share that he recently attended a spring practice at Alabama and continues to get linked to schools like Nebraska and UCLA. As the quarterback dominos continue to fall, Madden is certainly a name to know.
NEXT TEN
–Madden Williams, WR, class of 2026: Williams powered his club to its first-ever OT7 trophy, scoring 11 touchdowns over the course of the two days. That included three in the final. A well-rounded pass catcher, Williams was able to constantly create separation with double moves and sudden movements. We were also impressed with how he boxed-out opposing defenders at the catch point. Williams caught 42 passes for 496 yards and five scores as a sophomore at Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco.
–Talyn Taylor, WR: This weekend marked one of the more notable performances to date for Taylor, who made multiple highlight-reel-worthy grabs. Taylor has a nice blend of size and explosiveness. He attacked leverage when lined up in the slot and made dynamic cuts to get open. Taylor also flashed a large catch radius. The Geneva (Ill.) Community product has official visits set up with Georgia, Notre Dame and Ohio State. Ole Miss is also working to get him on campus in the near future.
–Elijah Dotson, SAF: Dotson recently picked up a fourth-star from 247Sports and is being heavily considered for a spot in the Top247, especially after how he played on Sunday. The lanky Dotson showed plenty of range from his safety posting and put points on the board for his team with a pick-six as he came across the field for a takeaway. A decorated hurdler, Dotson is set to announce a commitment on May 18. Pittsburgh and Penn State are battling it out for the Detiot (Mich.) U-D Jesuit star.
–Jerel Bolder, WR: Bolder produced tons of excitement on Saturday and had a viral moment when he plucked a football with one hand in the corner of the end zone while falling backwards. On the thicker side, Bolder projects as a strong inside receiver that can not only find holes in coverage, but also slip into the deeper third with his burst. The Marshville (N.C.) Forest Hills standout has official visits scheduled to NC State, Duke and Virginia. Ohio State and Clemson have also been in contact.
–Abduall Sanders Jr., LB, Alabama commit: Sanders was another prospect that was back in Orlando for the second-straight weekend. A thumper in the middle on Friday nights for Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei, Sanders impressed with his overall athletic ability. He not only scored a key touchdown for his team with a surprising catch-and-run effort, but got his hand on a few passes. Sanders might be more of a two-down linebacker on Saturdays, but he was arguably the best mid-skill in attendance.
–Jonas Williams, QB, class of 2026: Williams is the No. 8-ranked quarterback in the initial Top247 for the 2026 cycle. He got his team to the semifinals on Sunday with superb ball placement as he skillfully navigated tight coverage windows. A pass-first signal caller that can also beat you with his legs, Williams could be in line for a big junior season at Frankfort (Ill.) Lincoln-Way East after a productive two years at Bolingbrook. Ohio State, Oregon and LSU have all offered in recent months.
–Lebron Hill, WR: Hill proved to be one of the bigger surprises of the weekend. After focusing primarily on basketball his first two years at Hammond (Ind.) Morton, the 6-foot-4 wide receiver has turned his focus to football. He’s effective in 50-50 situations with his bounce out on the perimeter, but also broke free on some in-breaking routes. Hill has official visits penciled in to Louisville and Purdue. He added that Miami, Notre Dame and Georgia all want him to camp early this summer.
–Somourian Wingo, WR, class of 2026: Wingo was one of Iamaleava’s go-to targets on Sunday. He hauled in a few long touchdowns as he used his long stride to race into the deeper third. A two-sport athlete at Saint Augustine (Fla.) High that can punch it on the hardwood, Wingo needs some technical refinement, but he has the athletic clay to be molded into a true difference-maker. Tennessee has already gotten Wingo up to Knoxville. Michigan and Miami offered this spring.
–Marcellous Ryan, CB, class of 2026: Ryan goes by “Yellow” which is a fighting nickname as quarterbacks need to take caution when they look his way. We marked him down with two interceptions on Sunday with the second helping secure a championship for his squad. Ryan owns a slender frame, but he’s able to maintain phase with his quick feet and hardly finds himself out of position. He recently transferred into Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco for his junior season.
–Demetres Samuel Jr., SAF, class of 2026, Syracuse commit: Fran Brown is probably going to have to work hard to keep Samuel committed as he was one of the few defensive backs that could hang with all the high-profile wide receivers assembled. Samuel repped primarily at cornerback and used his hands to get his assignments off track. The chess piece for Palm Bay (Fla.) Heritage checks off boxes with his size, speed and football IQ. He will offer versatility wherever he signs.
AROUND THE FIELD…
–Iamaleava wasn’t the only Top247 quarterback from the 2025 cycle throwing as Texas A&M commit Husan Longstreet and Antwann Hill were also on hand. Both did some good things, but struggled for stretches to move the chains and also made costly mistakes.
Longstreet, who attends Corona (Calif.) Centennial, had the better weekend of the two. He has a powerful arm and creates plenty of RPMs. We’re excited to see him at the Elite 11 Finals next month. Hill, who will be a four-year starter at Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County, showed that he can push the ball down the field like few others in the class, but misfired on some of his short and intermediate shots. He has official visits set up with Florida and Memphis.
Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne 2027 Deshawn Laporte and Palos Verdes (Calif.) 2027 Ryan Rakowski were two young quarterbacks that had good weekends.
–Jace Brown was a top performer at last weekend’s OT7 Orlando tournament and the Downey (Calif.) Warren wide receiver once again saw a high volume of targets come his way. He was heavily considered for a spot in the ‘Next Ten.’ The same goes for Oregon commit Isaiah Mozee of Lee’s Summit (Mo.) North and Syracuse commit Julian McFadden of Philadelphia (Pa.) LaSalle College. Mozee has elite short-area juice while McFadden wins with big-time acceleration.
Saint Louis (Mo.) Christian Brothers College’s Corey Simms, Riverview (Fla.) Sumner’s Tyler Williams, Phenix City (Ala.) Central’s Daylyn Upshaw, Missouri City (Texas) Fort Bend Marshall’s Ja’kayden Ferguson and Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove’s Andrew Leslie were other 2025 wideouts that impressed. When it came to the underclassmen, UCLA commit Jonah Smith of Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Santa Margarita Catholic was a bit of a touchdown machine.
–It was an intriguing group of potential tight ends. Panama City (Fla.) Bay 2026 Javar Bowden is on the lighter side now, but he’s long-limbed and equipped with plus ball skills. He’s a name to file away for another day. The same goes for Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei 2027 Mark Bowman, who tested exceptionally well at an Under Armour Next Camp recently.
–Lancaster (Calif.) Quartz Hill cornerback Adonyss Currie is a reactionary cornerback with the ideal blend of length and speed. He too was on the shortlist for the ‘Next Ten’ group and has plenty of developmental upside. Alabama commit Zymear Smith of Ridgely (Md.) North Caroline was utilized as a slot coverage specialist and was energetic in that role. Jonesboro (Ga.) 2026 Jontavius Wyman was another inside corner we liked.
