Star tight end Colston Loveland, arguably the best player at his position in college football, missed the second half of Michigan’s win over Arkansas State with an undisclosed injury but is on track to return to the lineup in this week’s monumental clash with USC. Coach Sherrone Moore said that the injury is “less serious than we thought,” per TheMichiganInsider. Backup quarterback Jack Tuttle, meanwhile, experienced “minor setbacks” in his recovery from an offseason ailment.
USC looks to be at full strength following its early bye week. Coach Lincoln Riley said, via the Los Angeles Times, that linebacker Mason Cobb and cornerback Jaylin Smith will play after missing the Week 2 win over Utah State.
