The Los Angeles Rams’ relationship with Tre’Davious White appears to be heading toward an early conclusion.
The former All-Pro cornerback, who signed a one-year, incentive-laden deal with the Rams while recovering from an Achilles tear, hasn’t quite found his footing in Los Angeles.
After starting the season as a regular fixture in the Rams’ defense, White has been notably absent from the field for three straight games.
NFL Insider Ari Meirov broke the news Monday that the team is now allowing White and his representation to explore trade possibilities, potentially offering the veteran defender a fresh start elsewhere.

The writing seems to be on the wall, as the Rams have settled into their current secondary rotation with no immediate plans to shake things up.
While they’re content to keep White as insurance against injury, the team’s willingness to facilitate a move mirrors their handling of DeSean Jackson in 2021, when the receiver sought opportunities elsewhere after his role diminished.
White’s stint with the Rams started promisingly enough – he played virtually every defensive snap through the first four games.
However, his impact remained limited, registering just 12 tackles and two passes defended.
Given the circumstances and the Rams’ transparent desire to accommodate White’s interests, any return in a trade would likely be modest – perhaps a late-round pick or a pick swap at best.
With the NFL trade deadline set for Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 4 p.m. ET, both the Rams and White’s agent will need to move quickly if they want to part ways this season.
