Tom Bischof has been hailed as one of Germany’s top young talents for many years now, with the TSG Hoffenheim youngster admired for his incredible technique and passing ability. Of course, as they do with any talented German youngster, Bayern Munich kept tabs on the player and tried multiple times acquiring his services for their youth teams.
Now, it might be possible. Despite having finally broken into Hoffenheim’s starting lineup this season (or perhaps because of it), Bischof has yet to renew his contract, which runs until 2025. And Florian Plettenberg reports that Bayern may decide now is the time for an opportunistic swoop:
FC Bayern are closely monitoring Tom Bischof’s situation. Bayern have already inquired about the 19 y/o top talent from TSG Hoffenheim as they are interested in signing him next summer. Hoffenheim want to extend his contract beyond 2025 to avoid losing him on a free transfer. In addition to Bayern, [Ballsport] Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt are particularly interested in the talented midfielder.
That list of competitors would not make signing the talented youngster for Bayern easy, especially considering Leipzig and Frankfurt’s reputation for developing talented young players versus the Bavarians’ slightly less spotless reputation in that regard. But if Hoffenheim’s #7 does decide to leave, it may prove to be too good of an opportunity to pass up for the Bundesliga giants.
