According to a report from Sport Bild’s Christian Falk (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Manchester City could be positioning itself to acquire Joshua Kimmich on a free transfer in the summer of 2025:
Manchester City are interested in signing Joshua Kimmich as a free agent in the summer. Kimmich will hold further talks with Bayern regarding a contract extension and will strengthen his management with Thomas Beheshti, team manager of the national team, from January 1st. Nevertheless, the player will still hold contract negotiations with the club himself.
This is not the first time we have heard that Pep Guardiola’s club would be a major player for Kimmich during the summer. The interesting part of the report form Falk is that Kimmich is going to work with Beheshti, who we can assume will be doing some of the leg work for the midfielder and handling some preliminary discussions for Kimmich, while the player focuses on the season.
While Bayern Munich is still the frontrunner in the Kimmich Sweepstakes, Manchester City — because of the presence of Guardiola, its infinite budget, and its status within the Premier League — could be a very attractive spot for Kimmich.
