The New England Patriots got a glimpse of the future in Week 6 as rookie quarterback Drake Maye made his first NFL start and had his moments in a loss to the Houston Texans.
However, Maye did pop up on the injury report and reportedly had an MRI for a knee issue.
The good news for Pats fans is that he was back on the field and looking OK.
“Drake Maye looked like he was moving fine at practice. No limp, and no visible brace on his knee,” Nicole Menner of NBC 10 WJAR wrote on X.

An injury would be the last thing head coach Jerod Mayo would like to see the signal-caller deal with, especially after just one game as the team’s starting QB.
He played encouraging football against a good Texans team.
The No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft completed 20 of 33 passing attempts for 243 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.
He had a modest passer rating of 88.3 yet gave New England fans something to cheer about.
However, he is going to have to have to improve as time goes on.
Up next for New England are the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
If the Patriots are looking to earn a win and gain some confidence, this game against the reeling Jaguars is a great opportunity.
Armed with the good news that Maye is in good shape health-wise despite being on the injury report, if he can play well again, fans should be quite happy.
