Conor McGregor is filthy rich.
That may explain why “Notorious” has just four UFC fights over the last eight years. It could have been five, but a broken pinky toe — that miraculously healed once his UFC 303 headliner was canceled — kept him on the sidelines for all of 2024.
One of McGregor’s fans suggested it was time for the power-punching Irishman to call it a career since there was nothing left to accomplish in combat sports. The former Ultimate Fighter coach already captured two world titles and owns multiple businesses.
“Ya know what, you’re right,” McGregor said. “Good bye.”
McGregor is no stranger to online retirements, having said farewell multiple times in the past. It’s hard to get worked up about anything he says these days, simply because “Notorious” is no longer relevant when it comes to divisional rankings.
That said, fighting Ilia Topuria in Spain might be enough to get fans excited again.
