Xavion Staton announced his commitment to BYU tonight, live on the 247Sports Channel. He is the No. 23 overall ranked prospect in the national class of 2025, making him the highest-ranked domestic prospect to ever commit to the program.
Currently rated as one of the top three centers in the national class, the 6-foot-10 big man stars at Sierra Vista High School in Las Vegas and with the BTI grassroots program, which he helped lead to a PUMA Pro16 championship this summer.
Staton committed to the Cougars and first-year head coach Kevin Young from a list of finalists that also included Michigan, Stanford, and UNLV. Prior to cutting his list, Staton had offers from over 20 high-major programs ranging from coast to coast.
