Bayern Munich attacker Serge Gnabry has been sick over the last week, but the prospect of playing at Celtic Park in the Champions League has lifted the Germany international’s spirits a bit in recent days.
Gnabry has never faced off with Celtic and while he knows his first job is to win the game, the 29-year-old is eager to soak in the electric atmosphere that awaits the Bavarians.
“Obviously winning. Second, the atmosphere. I never got to play there yet, so definitely looking forward to a new experience. It’s always cool when you get to play in a new stadium where you haven’t been, where you don’t know what’s coming your way. Very much looking forward to that game,” Gnabry told Bundesliga.com (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
It will be interesting to see if Gnabry will be fully available to play. The illness he was dealing with cost him some valuable practice time over the past few days, but if called upon, Gnabry will likely be ready to go.
