DESOTO, Texas — Dorian Brew was one of the top cornerback prospects in the country when he was living in Ohio. Now living in Texas, the Top247 Conroe (Texas) prospect is seeing a different level of competition. At 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, Brew is ranked as the No. 4 cornerback in the nation and No. 4 overall prospect in Texas, according to 247Sports.
Brew competed over the weekend at Desoto’s Nike Invitational track meet. In the state of Texas, it’s almost mandatory for football players to compete in track and field. Brew ran the 100-meters and he feels track helps him keep his speed up for football in the fall.
“I’m just running the 100 meters today,” he said. “Track helps me keep my speed. It helps me get faster on the football field covering fast receivers. That translates from the track to the football field.”
