After an incredibly successful playing career in the NFL, which resulted in an NFL record seven Super Bowl titles won, superstar quarterback Tom Brady decided it was time to walk away ahead of the 2023 NFL season, following three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
With Brady being one of the most competitive professional athletes of all time while being perhaps the most successful of all time, the future Hall of Famer wanted to stay around the game and, as a result, is trying to buy an ownership stake in the Las Vegas Raiders and try his luck in the broadcast booth with FOX Sports.
Unfortunately, there’s quite a learning curve for former players who transition from the field to the booth, which can be rough initially, as not every great player can succeed as a player and a broadcaster.
Brady’s first attempt at calling a game in Week 1, with the Dallas Cowboys taking on the Cleveland Browns, wasn’t great, and he faced quite a bit of backlash for struggling in the broadcast booth, but he has turned things around in the following weeks.
Former NBA superstar turned basketball analyst Shaquille O’Neal gave the NFL legend some advice about being successful in his new career via Playmaker TD.
“Talk about your experience. Tell stories and be yourself,” O’Neal said.

Fortunately for Brady, some bumps in the road were expected, as few broadcasters are successful right out of the gate.
With more reps and time in the booth, he’s bound to make some strides, but it remains to be seen whether it will be a long-term gig for the legendary quarterback.
