The Boston Celtics cruised to a 107-89 victory against the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Kristaps Porzingis scored 20 points off the bench in his first game since April 29, while Jaylen Brown added 22 points and three blocks and Jayson Tatum contributed 16 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists.
Luka Doncic had 30 points, 10 rebounds and just one assist for the Mavericks, and former Celtic Kyrie Irving struggled and finished with 12 points.
Here’s how social media reacted to the Celtics’ Game 1 win.

Another franchise record.
The Game 1 Finals win is the 8th consecutive playoff win for the Boston Celtics.
That breaks the record (7) set by the ’86 NBA champions.

The Celtics defensive strategy worked to perfection tonight. Excellent execution to eliminate the lobs and spray threes off Luka assists.

Luka Doncic has never had fewer than two assists in a playoff game, and didn’t have fewer than 3 in a game this season.
He had one in 38 minutes tonight, with his night seemingly over.
