Each week, throughout the college football season, alumni, fans, media and the teams themselves look to the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Poll to see who is rising and moving within the national rankings. The newest poll follows Week 12 games.
It’s OK to be late if you’re going to the FCS party.
For the 11th straight week, at least one team has entered the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Poll for the first time in the 2024 season. This time, it’s No. 23 South Carolina State, which is headed to the Celebration Bowl as the MEAC champion, and No. 25 Eastern Kentucky, which is in the mix for an FCS at-large playoff bid.
The final full schedule of the regular season is this week. Half of the 10 automatic playoff bids that go to conference champions are filled by ranked teams – Montana State (2), UIW (6), Mercer (8), Richmond (10) and Abilene Christian (11). Five more of those tickets will be punched on Saturday before the NCAA announces its full 24-team pairings on Sunday.
South Carolina State (8-2), whose last appearance in the poll was after the 2013 postseason, is on a seven-game winning streak and will face the winner of the SWAC Championship Game – either No. 20 Jackson State or Southern – in the Celebration Bowl. Eastern Kentucky (7-4) has won four straight games to earn its first national ranking since the 2023 preseason poll.
Top-ranked North Dakota State, Montana State and South Dakota State are unchanged in the top three spots. South Dakota moves up one spot to No. 4 over UC Davis.
A national media panel selects the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Poll. A first-place vote is worth 25 points, a second-place vote 24 points, all the way down to one point for a 25th-place vote.
