The New England Patriots were used to a certain standard, but it’s been years since they’ve been able to meet it.
Bill Belichick’s final seasons in charge left a lot to be desired.
Though he’s arguably the greatest head coach of all time, he called all the shots for the organization and at times put it in a tough spot.
Clearly, Jerod Mayo wasn’t ready to take the reins to fix that as his replacement.
That’s why former Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi believes there is only one person who could bring them back to contention.
“The only way to fix this is to hire Mike Vrabel,” Bruschi said on ESPN, via Awful Announcing.

Bruschi stated that Vrabel could be a leader in the locker room and a savvy and knowledgeable head coach.
Furthermore, he also would have a close relationship with owner Robert Kraft to fix what needs to be fixed.
It’s hard to think of a better person for the job than Vrabel, a former head coach for the Tennesse Titans.
He’s the kind of culture-builder who will hold everybody accountable and develop winning habits within the organization.
As great a coach as Belichick was, he’s also partly responsible for the team’s disappointing status right now.
From splitting with Tom Brady to wasting multiple draft picks, not hiring assistant coaches and failing to develop Mac Jones, the Patriots are still paying the price for many of his decisions.
