Texas Tech may not have the high profile it once enjoyed under Mike Leach and then Kliff Kingsbury, but the Red Raiders have built something consistent under head coach Joey McGuire. The team is 15-11 with two bowl wins in the last two seasons.
The Red Raiders have also been decent on the recruiting trail, finishing with the 25th-ranked class nationally in the 2024 cycle.
As far as 2025 is concerned, Texas Tech just picked up another big recruiting win in the form of Bryson Jones, a four-star wide receiver from Frisco, Texas.
Jones is ranked as the No. 58 wide receiver recruit in the nation, according to the 247 Sports Composite, but even more impressive for Tech is the competition the Red Raiders beat for Jones’ commitment.
Oklahoma State, Arkansas, SMU, Texas A&M and Pitt were also in the running in this one. In all, Jones boasts over 20 offers.
