Andrew Ivins, 247Sports’ Director of Scouting, and national recruiting analyst Cooper Petagna joined forces to highlight six prospects in the class of 2025 poised to make huge impacts for their respective colleges as true freshmen next fall. The Top247 update earlier this month put the next wave of superstars into focus, and two running back risers — LSU commit Harlem Berry and Clemson pledge Gideon Davidson — are featured among Ivins and Petagna’s future freshmen playmakers.
Berry usurped Alabama commit Akylin Dear as the class of 2025’s top-ranked running back after a monster junior season at Metairie (La.) St. Martin’s, where he racked up 2,080 yards rushing and 37 touchdowns. Davidson jumped from No. 10 to No. 3 in the position rankings after totaling a mind-boggling 2,716 rushing yards as a junior at Lynchburg (Va.) Liberty Christian Academy.
Ivins and Petagna limited their selections — three apiece — to one five-star recruit each. The duo tabbed elite Texas and Tennessee commits as their lone five-star selections and rounded out their picks with another Clemson prospect and an intriguing linebacker recruit at Wisconsin.
