Bayern Munich completely dominated Heidenheim and scored four goals on top of that to ensure no points for the visiting side. However, errors allowed the away team to nab two goals, which drew the ire of Bayern player Thomas Müller:
“We played a very good first half, but the result was only 1-0. That’s a point of criticism, we created chances, but we weren’t efficient,” Müller said (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia). “In tight games that makes the difference. We played well [against Leverkusen] on Tuesday, we wanted to be back on track today and play another good game. We had problems in the last 20 minutes today, but overall, it was a good performance.”
Many thought that Bayern did well despite those mishaps, but it won’t be long before a better team exploits those weaknesses. Vincent Kompany still has some work to do.
