Las Vegas Arbor View three-star offensive lineman Daniel Boyd is headed to the ACC. The versatile line prospect has announced his commitment to Duke after his official visit to campus this weekend, adding to a class that sits inside the top 35 nationally in the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings.
Here is everything you need to know about the addition for the Blue Devils ahead of signing day:
WHAT DANIEL BOYD SAYS ABOUT DUKE
“Duke gives me the best of both worlds — education and football,” Boyd told 247Sports. “Football never lasts forever so why not have a backup plan for when the time comes. I’m very excited to be a Blue Devil and can’t wait to get to work.”
WHO ELSE WAS IN THE MIX?
Boyd was previously committed to Fresno State and also took an official visit to San Diego State back in the summer. He amassed close to double-digit scholarship offers during the process.
WHERE DANIEL BOYD RANKS AS A RECRUIT
Boyd is the nation’s No. 148 interior offensive lineman and No. 21 overall prospect in the state of Nevada for the 2025 class, per the 247Sports rankings.
HOW DANIEL BOYD FITS WITH DUKE
True freshmen are hardly expected to contribute along the offensive line right away but Boyd is physical enough and has the size to carve out a role early on in his college career. He’s a multiyear starter at the high school level and carries significant experience with him.
WHAT WE THINK ABOUT DANIEL BOYD
247Sports national scouting analyst Greg Biggins likes what Boyd is capable of providing at the next level.
“Boyd is a massive line prospect who’s listed at 6-4, 300 pounds, but looks even bigger than that,” Biggins wrote in the scouting report. “He plays left tackle at the high school level but will definitely slide inside to guard in college. He’s a strong run blocker, that’s his strength right now.
“He’s a true mauler and once he latches on, the play is over. He’s a physical kid who will play through the whistle and drive his man in to the ground. He needs to continue to work on his get off and overall athleticism but the tools are there for him to be a multi-year starter at the Power Four level.”
