Tom Brady is arguably the greatest player in NFL history.
As such, his competitive nature won’t allow him to do things half-heartedly.
That’s why not many people bought the narrative that he was not involved in the Las Vegas Raiders’ decision-making and day-to-day operations once he became a minority owner.
It didn’t take long before Brady proved them right.
According to multiple reports, Brady has been very involved in the Raiders’ head coaching search and reportedly has a preferred candidate for the job.
“The Raiders minority owner has ‘personally vouched’ for [Ben] Johnson in Vegas’ search and is part of the reason why he interviewed,” Mike Kadlick of Sports Illustrated wrote on X.
For those who want the #Patriots to hire Ben Johnson as their next head coach, Tom Brady is public enemy No. 1.

It’s hard to imagine Johnson, the Detroit Lions’ highly successful offensive coordinator, thinking the Raiders are the best place for him to begin his head coaching career.
They do have some interesting pieces, including record-setting rookie tight end Brock Bowers.
However, as an offensive-minded coach, unless Brady suits up again, the team doesn’t have a franchise quarterback on its roster.
They also likely don’t have a good enough pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to land one from an unimpressive QB class.
Unless they have a clear plan to upgrade the position and pitch it to Johnson, he could be better off joining any of the many other teams that are striving to sign him.
Then again, Brady can be very persuasive, and it will be very difficult to say no to him if he decides to land Johnson at all costs.
