Launch monitors come with a wide range of features and their ability to double as simulators can make them a compelling investment. However, a launch monitor is only worth the money if it delivers accurate data. Accuracy should be your top priority when choosing a launch monitor. To help you make an informed decision, we tested over a dozen models in both indoor and outdoor settings. If you’re concerned about performance in either environment, these are the launch monitors you should consider.
Top 10 most accurate launch monitors
We took indoor and outdoor testing data and ranked the top 10 most accurate launch monitors. The most accurate overall was the Bushnell Launch Pro. This is also the best outdoor launch monitor of 2024. Here are a few of the others that ranked near the top:
- Bushnell Launch Pro – $1,749.99
- Garmin R50 – $4,999.99
- Rapsodo MLM2PRO – $699.99

How accurate is the Bushnell Launch Pro?
The Bushnell Launch Pro stands out as one of the most accurate launch monitors in our testing. To establish accuracy, we compare each device against industry-standard equipment, ensuring a reliable baseline for measurement.
The Launch Pro’s total indoor average deviation of just 1.14 percent reflects exceptional performance across key metrics including a mere 0.36-percent variance in ball speed, 2.82-percent in backspin (92.3 rpm) and 0.23-percent in carry distance (0.2 yards).
Outdoors, it also had reliable results. Again, it stood out in the ball speed category with just a 0.19-percent variance in ball speed, 1.27-percent in backspin (46.5 rpm) and 3.29-percent in carry distance (6.0 yards).
For comparison, some of the least accurate models show outdoor ball speed variances exceeding four percent and backspin deviations as high as 40 percent.
Garmin R50 – Best indoor and best overall
The Garmin R50 was the second most accurate launch monitor of 2024 but it was the best overall for indoor performance. It also earned honors as the best launch monitor of 2024. Although it is plenty accurate outdoors, indoor data sets it apart.
The R50 is perfect for golfers looking for a home golf simulator that can double as a launch monitor. It has a 10-inch built-in color touchscreen display so if you don’t have a screen for your simulator room just yet, you can make this work for now. The touchscreen was the stand-out feature of this launch monitor for testers.
Can you find accuracy on a budget?
The Rapsodo MLM2PRO is a great choice if you want accuracy but you are on a budget. It’s priced at $699 but was the third most accurate launch monitor of 2024. You can even use the Rapsodo MLM2PRO as a simulator if you have an iOS or Android device, cables, or Airplay/Screen Mirroring to a Smart TV.
One of our favorite features in the Rapsodo MLM2PRO is the ability to capture slow-motion down-the-line video.
