Jake Diebler and Ohio State are on the board for the second time in the class of 2025. A’Mare Bynum tells 247Sports that he’s joining four-star shooting guard Dorian Jones as an early commitment to the Buckeyes.
A 6-foot-8, 210-pound interior player from Omaha, Neb. who is playing his senior season at Branson (Mo.) Link Academy, Bynum cited his bond with Diebler and how he wants to play when asked what sold him on the program.
“I would say that Coach Diebler just having a great bond with me and talking to me mostly every day,” said Bynum. “The way they run and fast tempo that’s how I want to play. How he let his forwards be very versatile and make plays.”

One of the most energetic and hard-paying big men in the senior class, Bynum has a nonstop motor and he is capable of playing either the four or the five. He’s gotten much more skilled over the past year and feels that his ability to stretch the floor as a big man will help to get him on the floor early.
“I see myself as a freshman coming in and making a big impact for the team,” Bynum said. “I could help the team out right away by stretching the floor out and being versatile. I have room to grow by getting stronger.”
A four-star prospect who is ranked No. 99 overall by 247Sports, Bynum is a player who is just starting to scratch at the surface of his potential and looked like a player who could make a move up the rankings as a senior when 247Sports watched him last month at Link Academy.
He’s excited to have his commitment out of the way and wants Ohio State fans to know what they are getting.
“It feels good not to have any more pressure on me,” said Bynum. “My message to the Buckeyes fans is you’re getting a dog.”
247Sports Scouting Report on A’Mare Bynum
Live-bodied, energetic and versatile, Bynum is a player whose best days are ahead of him on the college level.
A long and wiry strong 6-foot-8 interior player, Bynum is a capable defender at either the power forward or center position. Offensively, he’s in the process of going from a player who relied on hustle points, lobs and quick drives from the high post for his scoring to a much more skilled player. Bynum can now step out and make threes, his passing out of the low post and from the free throw line extended has also improved.
He’s a good rebounder thanks to his high running motor and he’s a glue guy who communicates and brings maximum effort each day. He still needs to add some bulk to his frame and continue to improve on his shot selection from the perimeter but he’s a player who has been steadily improving.
