ORLANDO, Fla. — The Under Armour Next Camp Series kicks off its 14-stop tour on Sunday with its first of two camps in the Sunshine State. The roster is loaded with top prospects from both the class of 2025 and the class of 2026, which is important as we officially closed the door on the class of 2024 last week with February’s traditional National Signing Day.
Headlining the group of 150 plus that is expected to participate is seven of Florida’s top 15-ranked rising seniors per 247Sports: Jacksonville Raines offensive lineman Solomon Thomas, Cocoa pass rusher Javion Hilson, Vero Beach linebacker Tarvos Alford, Tampa Bay Tech wide receiver Dallas Wilson, Tallahassee James Richards pass rusher Jalen Wiggins, Jacksonville Mandarin safety Hylton Stubbs and Tampa Berkeley Prep athlete Dallas Golden.
PLENTY OF FSU FLAVOR EXPECTED
Both Solomon Thomas and Javion Hilson are currently committed to Mike Norvell and FSU. They will be joined on the field Sunday by two more members of a Seminoles’ recruiting class that currently ranks No. 13 nationally: Jacksonville Mandarin quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. and Sanford Seminole linebacker Ethan Pritchard.
FSU might have the most committed prospects on the preliminary roster, but plenty of other Power Four programs will be represented. Florida has two early commits set to work out in Jalen Wiggins and Tampa Plant running back Waltez Clark. The same goes for Oregon (Dallas Wilson and Melbourne Eau Gallie offensive lineman Chavez Thompson) and UCF (Kissimmee Osceola running back Taevion Swint and Tampa Bay Tech wide receiver Santonyo Isaac).
Other participants that have made early decisions include: Ohio State wide receiver commit Jayvan Boggs of Cocoa, Miami offensive line commit Lamar Williams of Havana Gadsden County, Notre Dame running back commit Justin Thurman of Tampa Jesuit, Mississippi State defensive line commit Jeramiah McCloud of Havana Gadsden County, Rutgers quarterback commit Sean Ashenfelder of Saint Augustine Creekside and USF cornerback commit Jabari Smith of Apopka Wekiva.
POTENTIAL STOCK RISERS
The aforementioned Tarvos Alford, Hylton Stubbs and Dallas Golden arrived on the national recruiting scene well before their junior seasons. This camp, however, has served as a coming out party of sorts for plenty of blue-chippers over the years. Last year, Florida five-star signee LJ McCray turned plenty of heads. Who could create some buzz Sunday?
Tampa Robinson edge rusher Jesse Harrold is certainly a candidate. A three-sport athlete that can rock the rim on the hardwood, Harrold entered the Top247 back in November without a single Power Four offer to his name. He has since picked up tenders from Georgia, Penn State, LSU and plenty of others.
Seffner Armwood running back Girard Pringle Jr. is another under-the-radar name that is creating plenty of buzz in scouting circles after a strong 11th-grade campaign as he used his track speed and impressive agility to rack up 1,683 yards and 24 touchdowns on the ground. Of course, there are plenty of other prospects out there that will have a chance to stamp themselves in a competitive setting.
TOUTED ARMS WILL THROW
Florida isn’t known as a hotbed of quarterbacks, but one could argue that narrative is starting to change. After all, the Sunshine State had a homegrown signal caller go in the first round of last year’s NFL Draft in Anthony Richardson and this year’s Senior Bowl featured four arms from Florida: Michael Penix Jr., Michael Pratt, Joe Milton and Carter Bradley.
Both Tramell Jones Jr. and Sean Ashenfelder are already locked into spots in the ACC and Big Ten, but they aren’t the only 2025 arms that are drawing FBS interest expected Sunday as Cibastian Broughton of Orange Park Fleming Island, Bjorn Jurgensen of Orlando Bishop Moore, Ryan Huff of Pensacola Catholic are all firmly on college radars.
The crop of 2026 quarterbacks scheduled to throw is just as impressive. Names to know there include: Tampa Jesuit’s Will Griffin, Lake Mary’s Noah Grubbs, Cocoa’s Brady Hart and Orlando Jones’ Dereon Coleman.
Testing is expected to begin at 9 a.m. ET with the linemen going through drills and 1 on 1s first before the running backs and linebackers do the same. The final group of the day, which is set to wrap up around 2:30 p.m. ET, will feature the quarterbacks, wide receivers and defensive backs.
