Nazareth (Pa.) High Top247 Peyton Falzone, one of the top arms in the class of 2026, has decommitted from Virginia Tech. The 6-5, 200-pounder, who recently saw a big rising in the 247Sports rankings, has decided to part ways from the Hokies.
This is a big blow for the Hokies.
“After deep thought and consideration, I’ve made the difficult decision to decommit from Virginia Tech at this time,” said Falzone to 247Sports. “From day one, my family and I were treated with love and respect by the entire staff at Virginia Tech. I am deeply thankful to Coach Pry, Coach Bowen, and everyone in the Hokie family who believed in me and supported my development. I’ll always have great respect and love for Blacksburg and the Hokies.
“Reflecting on discussions with my family, I felt it was necessary to make this change,” he continued. “It didn’t feel right to be visiting other schools while being locked in with Virginia Tech. I owe it to myself, my family, and the schools recruiting me to be fully invested in every opportunity I received during this important time.
“Reopening my recruitment, I am eager to embrace the next steps in this journey. I’m looking forward to working hard this offseason, not only to continue growing as a quarterback but also as a teammate and leader. This new chapter is an opportunity to grow, and I’m excited for what lies ahead.”
As a junior, Falzone put together a terrific season. He was named the East Penn Conference Offensive Most Valuable Player after throwing for 2,136 yards and 23 touchdowns, along with totaling 743 rushing yards and eight more on the ground.
As it stands today, Falzone has seven offers. Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Penn State, Syracuse, Kent State, Bucknell, and Lehigh have all made he clear he has a scholarship offer at this time.
Regarding his future plans, Falzone has two trips lined up. He’ll be at Iowa on Friday and then head to Syracuse on Saturday. Falzone was at Ohio State this past weekend. However, the Buckeyes have not offered quite yet.
