Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep Top247 four-star cornerback Chris Ewald is one of the most coveted defensive backs in the country. The 6-0, 160-pounder is being pursued by schools all over the country, which is why he has over 30 offers.
However, in the end, the class of 2025 recruit can only pick one school.
On Tuesday, he let 247Sports know that he has locked in five spring visits and will eventually drop a Top 6 in May. After that, look for him to take official visits and make a commitment.
Eward will be at Miami on March 8, LSU on March 9, Auburn on March 19, Texas A&M on March 23, and Tennessee on Apr. 6.
Per 247Sports, Ewald is the No. 163 overall player in the country, No. 22 cornerback nationally and No. 20 prospect in the state of Florida. The industry-generated composite rankings list him at No. 93 overall in the 2025 class.
As a junior, the former Michigan commit totaled 45 tackles, 20 pass breakups and two interceptions.
247Sports Scouting Report via Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins: An aggressive, outside cornerback prospect that has squared off with a good chunk of the wide receiver talent that South Florida always offers. Has measured 5-foot-11.5 multiple times, but in-person evaluations suggest that he might be a little taller. Regardless, has some additional length in his arms with a near 6-foot-3 wingspan on file. Pretty buttoned up from a technical standpoint when it comes to his footwork and body positioning. Versed in both press-man and off-man coverage. Has seen a high volume of targets come his way over the years and while it can be a bit of an adventure once the ball is in the air, he’s usually where he needs to be. Rather spirited in run support for someone on the lighter side and has shown that he can get larger ball carriers on the ground. Picked off four passes and broke up 12 more as a sophomore for Florida’s 1M champs. Should be viewed as a perimeter defender that can matchup with larger wide receivers. Likely to find most success in a bump-and-run scheme with help over the top. Multi-year Power Five starter upside based upon everything he has put on tape thus far.
