Jaylen Elder, an athletic senior receiver from Madison (Ga.) Morgan County, debuts with a high three-star 87 rating on 247Sports thanks to his terrific senior season to date and layered athletic profile. A bouncy basketballer, Elder’s first five games this fall have produced a season’s worth of numbers: 30 receptions, 676 yards, and seven touchdowns on 22.5 yards per grab, along with an 84-yard TD run, plus nine tackles, two TFL, and one forced fumble. UAB and East Tennessee State offered Elder within the past week. He plans a weekend unofficial visit to Cincinnati.
“Elder’s senior tape pops,” said Greg Biggins, 247Sports national scouting analyst. “He has some suddenness to him and good initial burst that couples with late separation speed when the ball is in the air. Elder also shows run-after-catch playmaking ability that hinges on some open-field elusiveness and ability to outrun defenders’ angles.”
