Tottenham created unwanted Premier League history in their 2-2 draw at home to Wolves on Sunday.
Ange Postecoglou‘s men have made it a habit of going behind first in 2024 in front of their own fans.
And against Wolves it was no different, with the visitors needing just seven minutes to take the lead.
A brilliantly worked free-kick saw Hwang Hee-chan take aim from outside the box where he curled home in the bottom right corner.
With that, Spurs have become the first team since the inception of the Premier League in 1992 to concede first in 15 home games in a single calendar year.
Spurs have now fallen behind first in seven top-flight home matches this term from their ten fixtures at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
From those games, they have won just three times – coming from behind to beat Brentford, West Ham and Aston Villa.
Meanwhile they have gone on to lose on three occasions – against Arsenal, Ipswich and Liverpool – while also drawing once, against Wolves.
In the seven home games that Spurs have gone behind in this term, they forced themselves back on level terms by half-time on three occasions.
Rodrigo Bentancur was the latest to grab a Spurs equaliser in the 12th minute against the Midlands outfit.
The Uruguay international, recently back from suspension, got on the end of Pedro Porro’s corner at the near post to head past Jose Sa.
Spurs could have completed the turnaround in the 43rd minute after they were awarded a penalty for a foul on Brennan Johnson.
However skipper Heung-min Son couldn’t find the back of the net, with Sa diving to his right to keep out the South Korean’s spot-kick.
However the comeback was complete in the third minute of first half stoppage time through Welsh forward Johnson.
Johnson combined brilliantly with Dejan Kulusevski down the right channel, with the former feeding the latter outside the box.
Kulusevski then glided into the box before pulling back for his teammate, who made no mistake by firing into the near post.
But Spurs couldn’t build on their lead in the second half, with Destiny Udogie adding to their injury woes by going off with a suspected hamstring knock.
And to make matters worse for the hosts, Jorgen Strand Larsen then levelled up the scoring in the 87th minute with a fantastic finish into the roof of the net.
Both teams pressed for a late winner, but they had to settle for a point in their last fixture of the year.
A win for Spurs, who have put a stop to back-to-back defeats, would have lifted them up to tenth in the table.
But they instead remain in 11th place having now won just once from their last seven top-flight matches.
As for Wolves, they remain unbeaten from new boss Vítor Pereira’s opening three games in charge, with the visitors now two points clear of the bottom three.
