UFC Seattle is gooooing through chaaaanges.
Thankfully, the main event of UFC Seattle is still intact (knock on wood), but the card as a whole is getting decimated.
Dominick Cruz vs. Rob Font is off.
Edson Barboza vs. Steve Garcia is canceled.
Ketlen Vieira vs. Macy Chiasson is done (again).
Curtis Blaydes vs. Rivzan Kuneiv is being moved.
But leave it to the matchmakers to try to fix the card by adding filler fights, and that’s what they have done.
MMAMania.com confirmed with multiple sources today that Welterweight knockout artist Nursulton Ruziboev will take UFC newcomer Eric McConico (who was our Prospect of the Month). The bout will be contested at Middleweight.
Ruziboev (34-9-2) is coming off his first UFC loss to Joaquin Buckley at UFC St. Louis at starting his UFC career going 2-0, while McConico (9-2-1) is riding a five-fight win streak with three finishes. McConico was supposed to headline Tuff-N-Uff 141 tomorrow night on UFC Fight Pass.
Another newcomer, Julius Walker, will get his shot as he takes on Alonzo Menifield, who was supposed to fight at UFC London against Oumar Sy, according to MMA Junkie.
Walker (6-0) holds a 100% finish rate, with only one of his fights leaving the first round. Menifield (15-5-1) is riding a two-fight loss for the second time in his UFC run and was knocked out by Azamat Murzakanov in his last outing (watch highlights)
