UFC 312 lands in Sydney, Australia on Feb. 9 with the full main card now revealed ahead of the pay-per-view headlined by middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis taking on Sean Strickland in a rematch.
The fight serves as du Plessis’ second title defense after he submitted former champion Israel Adesanya this past August to extend his overall winning streak to 10 in a row. The South African returns to action in February with hopes of vanquishing Strickland once and for all after their first fight ended in a razor-close split decision with du Plessis ultimately getting the nod to claim the 185-pound title.
Since then, Strickland picked up a win over perennial contender Paulo Costa and now he’s getting another chance at becoming champion.
In the co-main event, UFC strawweight champion Zhang Weili returns to action when she defends her title against Tatiana Suarez.
Since arriving in the UFC, Suarez has been nothing but dominant while remaining undefeated with seven consecutive wins in the octagon. Injuries have been the biggest detriment to Suarez’s career with her sitting out nearly four years between 2019 and 2023 and then not competing at all in 2024.
Now she’ll attempt to live her dream by becoming UFC champion when she faces a force of nature in Zhang, who has won her past four fights in a row after dropping back-to-back bouts to Rose Namajunas.
The rest of the main card features a lot of local talent including Justin Tafa, Jimmy Crute and Jake Matthews all getting spots on the pay-per-view broadcast. The full card and bout order are still to be announced.
