Technotronic wants you to Pump Up The Jam.
UFC hackers prefer you pump up the scam. The promotion was the victim of an Instagram takeover on Wednesday night, with the scamsters pushing a cryptocurrency scheme that some fans were convinced was “entirely legit,” based on their social media reactions.
Officials confirmed to MMA Junkie the post was fake.
Order was eventually restored but some of the comments on Twitter demonstrate how easily fans can get duped by crypto scams, which is probably how Khamzat Chimaev and Tyron Woodley got mixed up in pump-and-dump controversies.
Here’s a sample of the reactions:
“You don’t even know it’s a hack. I’d buy some anyway. Imagine you seen this at 2am and it isn’t? If it’s real it honestly could hit 1b.”
“It’s 2025. The chances this is entirely legit on the ufcs end is very very high.”
“Is it really hacked? Because this is something Dana would do.”
“Honestly, it wouldn’t have surprised me if they actually had launched a crypto scam.”
The UFC website has been hacked multiple times over the years and individual fighters (including this former champion) have also lost control of their social media accounts. I guess those “f—king nerds” are at it again.
