Bayern Munich’s 1-0 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach was another case of Rekordmeister domination that veered eerily close, at times, to collapsing into a different result entirely.
The Bavarians can be thankful that it did not turn out that way.
“We had many good chances,” Kimmich summarized after the match (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Tim (Kleindienst) also had a chance for Gladbach but otherwise we made it unnecessarily a close game. The way we played was okay, we didn’t concede any chances in the first half. In the second half we created even more chances and Gladbach took more risks. In the end the most important thing is the win.”
As for Kimmich, it was another demonstration of the Bayern No. 6’s prowess all over the pitch. The captain apparent for both Bayern Munich and Germany is carefully evaluating the club as he waits to resolve his contract situation — and this game served up another reminder of his importance.
